End of the line
I’m sorry to announce that the Procrastinate extension will no longer be developed. I’ve postponed this decision several times, but the fact of the matter is that between my professional and personal life, there’s no time left for anything else at the moment.
Thank you very much for your support and I hope you enjoyed using Procrastinate.

Procrastinate version 2.0.2
A small bugfix release, meant to solve problems with the toolbar not hiding disabled services between Safari restarts.
Thanks to Bob for reporting this error!
Update Process

Did you know?
I’m aware that not everyone enjoys reading product descriptions, specifications, release notes, long blog posts, … But if you don’t, you might miss out on some interesting features Procrastinate offers.
Therefore, I’m starting a Did you know? series which will highlight one particular Procrastinate feature, with as little text and as much pictures and/or videos as...

Another small sneak preview
Here’s another preview of the upcoming bookmark page, this time for Pinboard users.
Features to look out for:
Default tags: specify one or more default tags in the extension preferences. These will be passed with every bookmark.
Autocomplete for your own tags: Procrastinate will fetch your Pinboard tags in the background. As soon as you start typing in the tag field, it will suggest...

Ask a question
Initially, I introduced ask a question feature to provide low-barrier feedback. However, its current implementation is far from useable: e.g. answers will be posted to the blog, whereas the question itself might not serve a general audience. It’s not really suited for questions that require additional information either. Therefore, I’m retiring this feature from the blog.
Hold your...

Sneaky sneaky — A sneak preview of 2.1!
I’m already hard at work creating version 2.1 of Procrastinate. Although only a minor version increase, it’ll contain quite a few changes and also some new (awesome!) features. Here’s a preliminary list of what to expect:
Delicious support will be dropped. An explanation of why is available in a previous post.
Support for historious bookmarking service.
Refinement of the...

Not so Delicious
I’m afraid I have some bad news for users who depend on the Delicious features of Procrastinate. Starting from version 2.1 (which is currently being developed), Delicious will no longer be supported.
The reason for this is twofold:
For some bizarre reason, Delicious still uses two different APIs and two logon mechanisms, depending on when you created your account. “Original”...

Procrastinate version 2.0.1
I’ve decided to release the next major version publicly, as I still haven’t heard back from Apple after submitting version 2.0 some time ago. You’ll notice that the version has increased to .0.1, due to a small bug with the Delicious icon in the toolbar.
Before updating, please read the release notes carefully as this version introduces quite some changes with regards to...

Hooray!
Yes, it’s finally here: version 2.0 is available.
As described in my previous post, the update won’t be detected by Safari until Apple has approved the update.
For those interested, you can get the new version here. If you choose to install Procrastinate 2.0, please read the release notes carefully.

As usual, send comments, feature requests and bug reports to...

Overdue
Time to set some deadlines to satisfy your lust for Procrastinate 2.0.
As far as I’m concerned, Procrastinate 2.0 is now feature complete and will go into testing. Unless I encounter any serious bugs, I intend to release it next week — a week later than planned, but a lot of goodies have been added to make up for it.
But… (there’s always a but isn’t there?)
Due to the...

Safari Extension Gallery, holidays and 2.0
Procrastinate is featured in Apple’s Safari Extension Gallery. Though i’m very happy and excited about this, the timing isn’t too great as I’m currently on holiday until the end of the week with only limited access to Internet.
So please send me your bug reports, questions and any feedback you may have, but do keep in mind that it may take a little longer for me to reply...

Procrastinate version 1.3.2
This releases fixes a small but very nasty bug in the Instapaper module which would cause malformed urls to be submitted to Instapaper. So if you’re an Instapaper user, this is a must-update. Thanks to Ian Soper for reporting this!
Release notes are available here.

Problem with Read it Later
I noticed a problem with logging in to Read it Later when clicking the service’s icon in the Procrastinate toolbar. It seems that there’s an issue with the SSL certificate. I’ve notified them and in the meanwhile, the login will proceed through http://www.readitlaterlist.com instead of the more secure https alternative. This change is part of the 1.2 update.
As soon as the...
Procrastinate version 1.2
Procrastinate has been updated to version 1.2. Release notes are available here. Below is a list of the changes introduced in this version.
Changes
Toolbar becomes optional
One of the feature requests I received was to make the toolbar optional as it takes up precious screen space. As of this version, the toolbar can be hidden through Procrastinate’s settings.
Introduction of context...

blumenberg asked: I’m very happy about your Procrastinate Safari Extension — and I’m hoping you gonna making the Delicious support very soon. One little suggestion I have to made: to avoid taking to much screen space maybe it’s possible to make a drop down button like the 1P button from 1Password and not an extra Procrastinate Bar. See the example of the 1P button here: <div...

Small bugfix (1.1)
Another update today. Enjoy!
Changes
Toolbars will now initialize correctly. Before, opening a new window caused the Procrastinate toolbar to show all services, regardless of which services were disabled. Thanks to Brandon Pittman who signaled this bug.
The CSS for the toolbar has been updated. In some cases, the toolbar showed a scrollbar on the right.
Debug statements have been removed....

brandonpittman asked: I love Procrastinate. I love being able to add all tabs to Pinboard. I turned off ReadItLater though, and every time I close a window and open a new one later, the RiL buttons are back even though they are set to off.
Also, would it be possible to add a "Jump to Oldest Unread" for Pinboard?
Many thanks,
Brandon Pittman

Procrastinate updated
The first update for Procrastinate - albeit a very small one - is already available.
Changes
Procrastinate now has a proper icon. You can drool over it in Safari’s preferences. The icon is courtesy of Dimension Of Deskmod (Alejandro Lopez Ulloa).
If you logged out manually and need to force Procrastinate to re-authenticate you, you can do so by ALT-clicking the appropriate service...
